Courage is forged in the fires of adversity. A quote I once used and thought sounded quite cool. It’s certainly been on my mind as I’ve observed patients learn how to cope with health issues in this context of the recent months.

Western Australia has fared quite well relatively, and I have been able to spend some time speaking with patients and clinicians in other locations around the world, who have allowed me to acknowledge our beneficial situation.

As we now see people returning to activities and sport, we will naturally expect an increase in complaints of soreness and injury. Potentially added to by a prolonged period of deconditioning, stresses and other disruptions to normal lifestyle routines.

My advice rarely changes. Judge your capacity and your ultimate goal to achieve and set a course appropriately for this. At a time like this, I will encourage you to be patient. Let your body adapt and you will do well.
