It’s ever fascinating for me to investigate the multitude of things that people’s bodies do on automation without their operators being aware.

A large component of what I help with in practice, is finding out how habits or behaviours are involved in my patients’ pain or reduced function.

So, here is a list of things for you to investigate yourself! See what you can discover.

1. Breath holding

2. Abdominal bracing

3. Shoulder and neck muscle bracing

4. Avoiding or unbalanced loading on each leg

5. Bracing and rigidity around the region of your body that is painful

The first step is to discover if this is happening. The second step is to then understand if it’s actually relevant!

I look forward to hearing from you.
